Meet Our Team:

Madi Keay

Hey there, I’m Madi, the Founder & Strategic Advisor at the Charity Collective! I grew up in Christchurch, and have just come back after some time abroad. I’ve also spent a pretty significant amount of time in Wellington and Auckland. I’ve completed a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics, a Bachelor of Arts in Māori and Indigenous Studies, a Master of Sustainable Development Goals majoring in Disaster Response, and a Certificate in Not-For-Profit Management.

I have successfully developed funding strategies and campaigns for a wide range of organisations, ranging from small community groups to large New Zealand-wide charities. I’ve also been fortunate enough to sit on the other side of that daunting grants table, allocating funding on behalf of philanthropic trusts and Government departments, which provided useful insight into how to help charities reach their funding goals.

A social cause that really matters to me is domestic violence. In my lifetime, I really hope we see New Zealand turn around our domestic violence statistics and lead the world in innovative, effective violence reduction programmes.

Previously, I have run a successful business as a solo fundraising consultant, but recently we’ve branched out to bring on some incredible new people and become The Charity Collective. You’ll find me working across all areas that we offer here, but my passion really lies in the strategy and planning space. I look forward to hopefully connecting with you soon!
